OUR EXPERIENCES
A Unique Approach To Slow Tourism.
We believe what we do at Gufuá is pretty unique.
The tourism industry has grown massively in Iceland, and since then we’ve become increasingly aware of the need for a slower, more mindful way to travel in our own country. This is why we offer two unique experiences at our farm:
● Goat Walk
● Along The Cairn Path
Our hope is that our experiences will give you the chance to slow down and reconnect to a quieter side of life - one that allows our visitors to really get to know the animals and environment around them in a fun and informative way.
Goat Walk
You will be taken for a guided walk with our goat bucks Gandalf, Fili, Kili and the rest of their fellowship through the beautiful surroundings of our farm.
The trek starts at the goats barn and ascends into the wild farmland close by, where you’ll learn some interesting facts connected to the Icelandic goats while walking them on a lead - goats take to trekking quite easily!
The walk itself is at a leisurely pace, there is no solid concrete path and it involves a bit of hill and slope walking. Please note that high heels and flip flops are not encouraged.
Our hope is that this experience will allow you to reconnect with a quieter side of life, one that allows our visitors to experience nature and animals, as well as relax and release tension. It will be funny, refreshing and relaxing all at the same time, and a great picture opportunity!

Along The Cairn Path
When driving or hiking around Iceland, you might come across stone Cairns, called “Vörður”, ancient way-markers located in strategic spots that used to show travellers their way. Our farm Gufuá happens to have several Cairns scattered around it, which Sigga took months to find and renovate.
In this experience, we´ll be walking in the pristine surroundings of our farm Gufuá in West-Iceland, treading a path between Cairns that mark our way. The Cairns will give us the perfect chance to take in the beautiful scenery around us while diving deeper into the history of these magnificent structures. You’ll hear some traditional tales about the hidden people living in the Icelandic rocks, the elves and other nature spirits that belong to this land.
The walk is not too strenuous, and we will walk at a leisurely pace. Bear in mind that you will be hiking, so there is no solid concrete path and the walk involves a bit of hill and slope walking.

COVID-19 GUIDELINES
We are still able to run our tours as usual and, despite these strange times, will always aim to give our visitors the best experience possible. We are a working farm, so keeping ourselves and our visitors safe is of utmost importance to us. Therefore, we ask our visitors to follow some of these guidelines:
DO NOT attend the tours if you or any of the people in your group are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms. If you are, we would be happy to rearrange your tour.
Please wash your hands or use hand sanitiser before your arrival to the farm.
Please note that we are unable to offer any washrooms on site.
Thank you so much, we look forward to welcoming you!
